John Rutledge for CUSD 200 Schoolboard

I am a candidate for re-election to the District 200 School Board in the nonpartisan April 1st, 2025, election. I was elected in April 2023 to fill a two-year vacancy and would be honored to continue to serve. Schools are our largest local public entity and I saw an opportunity to use my varied experience and interests toward assuring their continued high quality.  I am not running with an “agenda” to fix something or make significant changes. I believe in oversight. We have a highly respected superintendent who has assembled a professionally admired staff. Administration and management is their job. Ours is governance.

I am entirely self-funding the cost of  yard signs and other expenses and will neither solicit nor accept financial contributions from any source, within or outside the district.

The terms of four incumbents are expiring.  Brad Paulsen, after many years of dedicated service, has chosen to step back, and his wise guidance will be missed.  Of the remaining three incumbents including me with expiring terms,  I highly respect the experience and contributions of Rob Hanlon and Angela Blatner. I have had extensive discussions with candidate Katy Ebbesen and I believe she will make an excellent board member. While I hope to receive your vote, I also encourage you to support Rob, Angela, and Katy. They are each highly qualified and have demonstrated a dedication to providing a good education to ALL the students of CUSD 200. They will have my vote and I hope yours.

Yard signs are a necessity of a campaign. I hope to delay their appearance, but I will soon be distributing them and would appreciate your visible support with a yard sign.

Thank you!
